Jupiter Conjunct Uranus in Taurus
This Saturday, April 20th, is the long awaited conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus. It takes Uranus about 84 years to complete a cycle around the zodiac and for Jupiter it is about 12 years so they meet up about every 13 years. The last conjunction took place in 2010/11, they met up 3 times (June and sept 2010 and jan 2011) due to retrogrades, first in Aries then the last two in pisces. The last time they encountered a conjunction in Taurus was in May of 1941.
No transit exists within itself, theres a process to the algorithm, momentum of energy and symbiotic evolution. So there’s been many transits and events that have led us to this one, and many more transits will work off the energy that manifests within this conjunction. Although the big transit takes place on a certain day, the process of growth from it expands throughout the year and the next 13 years until the next conjunction.
Getting into the energy of this conjunction we have two planets meeting, starting a new cycle. The planet Uranus represents liberation and freedom from the norm, known and consensus regulations. Uranus is rebellious and innovative, it’s our unique vibration, its our likeminded communities. Uranus is liberating from conditioned patterns, its individuation, its resisting against authority, its detachment and objectivity. Its sovereignty. Uranus is electricity, the higher mind, the electric part of our brain. Uranus is deconditioning. Also within a chart the Uranus/Aquarius archetype can represent trauma.
The planet Jupiter represents our philosophies and belief systems. Jupiter is our right brain, intuitive thinking. Jupiter is authentic, sincere and truthful. Jupiter is learning through direct experience, it’s our personal journey. Jupiter corresponds also to risk, as to receive we must let go. As I said Jupiter is truth it can also be dogma, where we are too attached to our subjective truth. It can also be lying, the snake oil salesman is within the Jupiter/Sag archetype.
So now we have some basics to grasp these two planetary archetypes lets talk about Taurus. Taurus is the archetype of survival and sustainability. Its stabilizing and grounding and simplifying. Taurus is how me make life livable and how we learn to be alone with ourselves. Taurus is self value and self esteem, its personal resources and self-reliance. Taurus is slowing down, its patience, its the senses, its personal pleasure, its sensations and sensuality in this corporeal physical world. Taurus can be very stubborn and isolated to maintain regulated comfort and security, pleasure seeking and self gratification. Taurus is also self-intimacy.
Venus is planetary ruler of Taurus, so she is ruling this conjunction. She has been very important this year and she is ruler of transiting south node in Libra. So this conjunction is in symbiosis with the growth lessons connected to Venus’ transits and the eclipses. With this conjunction being Venus ruled it’s adding in the specifics of the evolution of our relationship to ourselves, others and Earth herself.
To sum all this information up, the Jupiter Uranus conjunction Saturday is giving us all opportunities to liberate (Uranus) our belief systems (Jupiter) that we’ve been attached to and found so safe and comfy (Taurus). My astro teacher made the statement a while back about this energy being “The freedom to be wrong” and I love that. It’s a very philosophically expansive transit where we can be open to admitting we don’t know and remove value from needing to be right and putting more value into the process and the experience. It’s a beautiful shift in perspective. Its a chance to be free from limiting belief structure and “truths” we’ve told ourselves.
Back to Venus, she is in Aries during this transit. Venus in Aries is essentially very self involved and self orientated on the surface but the deeper meaning is for self-discovery. She values autonomy in Aries, the essential freedom to act and become is important. She can be self-serving and operate instinctually, focused on the circulating subjective desires and individual needs. She strongly expresses feelings and is developing courage to act and be decisive. Although she is ruling the conjunction, she is also in balsamic phase close to semisextile Jupiter and Uranus which gives the flavor more surrendering our individual needs and known purpose and meaning for a higher meaning and more spiritualized ideals, let the heck go to attachments to outcomes. I feel like that phasal relationship is also reflected in the balancing of the Aries and libra polarities. Remembering that we are all having our individual subjective experiences and that it’s important to no one can operate completely independent.
During the transit I think its cool to note that the south node will be in exact biquintile (144*) to Jupiter. Biquintile aspect is that of divine inspiration and creativity, and in regards to Jupiter I think that it plays into the need for harmony and balance rather than going to extremes. Almost like an opportunity to rectify areas that have been imbalanced.
Another way this conjunction can manifest, speaking of the divine inspiration of the biquintile, is innovative (Uranus) philosophies (Jupiter). Carl Jung created the concept for The Red book during a Jupiter Uranus conjunction as well as Tolkien creating Middle Earth. It can be an expansive time for unique and creative idea, cosmic inspiration. This transit is also accompanied by restless and maybe electric energy, it’s helpful to ground and breathe and get the body moving to help move the energy out.
There are millions of ways this transit can and will manifest for each individual. If you can do the word math at home you can see what house this conjunction takes place as well as the house Aries Venus is in, Libra SN, the 11th and 9th houses, wherever Aquarius and Sag, and where your natal jupiter and uranus are to find specific areas of your life being affected. On a global scale our relationship to Earth will be affected as it’s happening in Taurus, hopefully it’s a collective call to understand and work with Earth in a new and improved way. The wild thing about Jupiter and Uranus meeting is the possibility for unique thought, innovative ideas, it really calling us to be open to new ways of relating to ourselves and others, evolving our values and belief systems. Uranus rules past life memories as well and Jupiter is Natural Law so maybe we remember a long lost survival or agricultural skill, maybe we remember how to work with Mother Earth and cultivate a symbiotically nurturing relationship. Maybe we remember who we are and how to work together. No matter what happens, it’s for our personal and collective greatest good!
Be Blessed, may the universe always be conspiring in our favor!
